THE MOSCOW BOYS CHOIR® is a careful blending of heavenly soprano voices with the rich resonance of bass and baritone sound that brings a distinct Russian Flavor to the choral experience. Founded in 1957, they are among Russia’s most prestigious all-male choirs. Under the direction of Mr. Leonid Baklushin, members of the choir attend a special school which provides both general education and musical training. Being selected as a member of the touring company of THE MOSCOW BOYS CHOIR is no easy feat. Hand-picked from over 400 students at their school in Moscow, these highly talented youngsters have the voices of angels. Their hard work has gained them a reputation for excellence, as they have toured successfully across Russia, Canada, South Korea, France, Germany, Italy, Belgium and Holland.

THE MOSCOW BOYS CHOIR embarked upon their premier US Tour in 1993 and played to standing ovations, receiving rave reviews across the nation. Subsequent North American Tours have included visits to almost every State in the Union and also to Canada. The performances for Canadian audiences were highly acclaimed as the choir won the hearts of the people there as they have done the world over. THE MOSCOW BOYS CHOIR brought their initial Christmas Around the World Tour to a triumphant conclusion in December of 1999 with an invitation from the White House to perform for President Clinton, the First Family and their friends at a private Holiday Gala. When the concert was over, the choir was treated by White House Staff to punch and cookies and then came the truly thrilling part of the evening -a private audience with the President of the United States! The choir was ushered into the Diplomatic Reception Room where they performed for the President, First Lady Hillary Rodham-Clinton and daughter Chelsea Clinton beneath the image of our first President, George Washington. President Clinton then addressed the group, pointing out the historic significance of a choir from Russia performing at the White House. It was a truly magical evening, one that the choir and those present will always remember! In addition to touring, THE MOSCOW BOYS CHOIR® has appeared in Command Performance at the Royal Albert Hall for members of the British Royal Family. They were also invited to participate in a grand concert at Red Square for International Children’s Day where they performed their rendition of “Ave Maria” and “Evening Bells” with the world-famous tenor, Andrea Bocelli. The choir is very active in Choral Festivals, performing in the Moscow Music Festival as well as the International Festival of Boys Choirs. These performances are in addition to appearances at the Bolshoi Theatre, the Moscow Conservatory’s Great Hall, the Moscow State Duma, the Olympic Hall, the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall, the Pushkin Literary Museum and the Kremlin. They were featured in the Russian National Cinema Awards and the 850th Anniversary of the founding of Moscow, an event for which only the most popular performers in Russia are invited to participate. They are featured regularly on Russian Television and have appeared on CBS’s Christmas Eve Holiday Special, which was broadcast throughout North America.They have appeared internationally on Rev. Robert Schuler’s Hour of Power. The choir has also recorded performances for National Public Radio in the U.S. for airing on “Performance Today.”

THE MOSCOW BOYS CHOIR presents a special Holiday Program to audiences throughout the Christmas Season. The powerful sound of this 30-voice all-male choir will perform music of the Season from around the world. Audiences will be musically transported to far away places including Russia, Europe, the Americas and more, as the choir showcases Christmas Classics, as well as new and vibrant pieces, many sung in their language of origin. Also featured will be holiday favorites from previous tours, including WE WISH YOU A MERRY CHRISTMAS, excerpts from Handel’s MESSIAH, SILVER BELLS, ANGELS WE HAVE HEARD ON HIGH, plus their hauntingly beautiful rendition of SILENT NIGHT.
